Prong - Reactive Mind

Spirits of this world trying to trip me out
Filling me with fear keeping me in doubt
Doin't do it
Can't do it
Never find it right, never see no light
Never whole inside, Nonsense in my mind
So done with it
I'm over it

Tired of basing my life
On the reactive mind
I'm a dependant type
To be self sufficient

Delusions how they hide how can't survive
The confusing needs others cursing me
Can't have it
Can't live with it

Tired of basing my life
On the reactive mind
I'm a dependant type
To be self sufficient

I'm a dependant type with reactive mind

Need to magnify the will to get right
Enough is always more but don't want to
Score
Can't have it
Can't do it
I'm a dependant type with reactive mind
I'm a dependant type with a reactive mind
To be self sufficient
Self sufficent

Liverpool act wrap up city's new music event

23 May 2009 - The Zutons closed the Liverpool Sound City festival last night, with a home coming gig that saw them preview new material alongside old classics.

The band played to 650 fans at the St Georges Hall concert rooms at the end of the Sound City event's four days and nights of gigs, conferences, exhibitions and workshops.

It was an unlikely venue, usually host to classical concerts, but frontman Dave McCabe said he was looking forward to a change of scenery:

"I think this gig will be different because of the intimacy of St George's. It's always fun to play smaller places. It will be interesting and a good one to be at."

It's been something of a roller-coaster 18 months for The Zutons. Their third album You Can Do Anything entered the UK album charts at No. 8, they got to play with Paul McCartney at Anfield last year and their track Valerie was covered by Amy Winehouse to become an international smash hit. But all this was followed by The Zuton's label, Sony BMG, dropping them over Christmas last year, allegedly because they weren't shifting enough records.

Tonight they came back kicking and screaming and with a some new, more rocky, beat-heavy songs, The Zutons proved to their hometown crowd that they are still one of the best bands to emerge from Liverpool in the last 5 or so years - and they embodied that party spirit that the city is so famous for.

It seems McCabe and co. have abandoned their chirpy sing-along chorus's with the trademark ‘insert girl's name here’ trick. And instead, their new material sounded much more sophisticated with atmospheric drum parts, showy guitar solos and vocals that smacked of 70's acts like Led Zeppelin.

The band knew when to pull out the old favourites and the set list was a mix of hits and old album tracks as well as brand new numbers, much to the delight of the audience:

"It went down really well, we loved it - even the stuff we've not heard before - the crowd loved it. It was one of the best gigs I've seen them do." said one fan.

The Zutons were only one of around 400 bands to play in Liverpool over the last four days as part of the Liverpool Sound City Festival. Artists including The Rascals, The Damned, White Lies, Juliette Lewis and Little Boots have played at venues across the city. As well as that, the likes of Billy Bragg have been involved in music industry discussions and legendary photographer Kevin Cummins showcased a selection of photographs of some of Liverpool's biggest pop stars in a brand new exhibition.

Now in its second year, the event aims to bring new music to the city and create an opportunity for industry bosses to check out up and coming talent in the North West. The local punters at last night's gig certainly think it's a good idea - with one gig-goer gushing:

"It's boosting tourism, I've got ten friends who've come from all over the country. It's good to have the focus on Liverpool and we've really enjoyed the chance to see some new music."SET LISTWhy Won't You Give Me Your LoveBum BagZuton ForeverPressure PointHello ConscienceConfusionValerieBrand New Toy204Just You WaitDon't Ever ThinkYou Will You Won'tAlways Right Behind You

George Harrison - Interview

Part 1 George Harrison Interview 1988

Ringo was the least talented one. He must feel to this day that his life was a lottery win. Andy White played drums on their first album and single releases. The only reason Pete Best got the boot was because he refused to do the 'dressage' and become the commodity. How do you know its a drummer at the door? They always come in late and knock outta time...George was a fantastic talent who being younger than these two was always out of confidence.George lives through some cracking tunes

Ira Sullivan - You Stepped Out of a Dream

If anyone had ever been as proficient on both trumpet and sax - Benny Carter is the obvious comparisson. I write as an avowed fan of Ira Sullivan's genius and this clip is great. Real great band, too. Love it, thank-you,Sincerely,RED (Ireland).PS.: Gary Dial once told me Ira would get a kick out of having a fan named "Red Sullivan"... and, that's me!

Robert Palmer - Hey Julia

Hey, hey julia, you?re acting so peculiar
I know I?d never fool you in a million years
A horn section you resemble and your figure makes me tremble
And I sure would like to handle what?s between your ears
You?re a temptation to a man
I could not resist you and I won?t if I can
You?re so unexpected and whatever you injected made me feel how I felt when I sang

Hey, hey julia you?re acting so peculiar
I know I?d never fool you in a million years
You?re a strain on my eyeses and you?re full of surprises
Love materializes soon as you come near.
There?s a sensation you create,
Robs me of my sleep and I?ve forgotten the date
My head started spinning soon as you started singing
And like a fish I just rose to the bait.

Hey, hey julia with your crazy sense of humor
You turn fact into rumor soon as you come near
A horn section you resemble and your figure makes me tremble
And I sure would like to handle what?s between your ears
You?re a temptation to a man
I could not resist you and I won?t if I can.
You?re so unexpected and whatever you injected made me feel how I felt when I sang
Julia, you?re a danger just like giving sweets to strangers
And I think it?s time I took you in hand.

Man convicted of stalking Banks

Tyra Banks leaves courtBrady Green had insisted he was just a harmless fan

A US man who told police he and model-turned-TV presenter Tyra Banks "had a thing together" has been convicted of stalking her by a judge in Manhattan.

Judge James Burke ruled Brady Green, 39, of Dublin, Georgia, had been "hounding" the star.

Judge Burke said he would not send Green to jail, but told defence lawyer Jeffrey Berman to help his client get psychiatric counselling.

Mr Berman said he was disappointed with the verdict and was planning an appeal.

Assistant 'threatened'

His client had faced up to 90 days in jail.

Green, who was arrested in March, was accused of repeatedly calling her TV studio, sending her flowers and threatening her assistant.

The America's Next Top Model presenter had been frightened.

"I didn't know what to do," she told the judge.

"How do I live my life when I leave this building? I had never experienced anything like this before."

Banks revealed security had "changed significantly" around her.
